Project Title: Vaccine Victory

2021

Project Partner: Asian Services In Action (ASIA) & International Community Health Center (ICHC)

Location: Cleveland and Akron AsiaTown locations

Photos were taken at AsiaTown Plaza and Park to Shop in Cleveland

About the Project:

This project is to create a marketing campaign that encourages children to get vaccinated during the pandemic and to further influence the parents to be vaccinated. This is specifically targeted at Asian communities in Cleveland and Akron locations. The project comes in four parts: poster, playing cards, game board, and activity sheets.

Part I: Get Vaccinated Today Poster

The poster depicts two scenes. Get your vaccination first and then later we can come together and play. Make sure to get your vaccine! (Images of the poster is above.)

Part II: Playing Cards

There are 7 playing cards in numerical order that narrates a story. The playing card starts narrating the time during the early pandemic where some individuals practiced safe social distancing while some did not. Those who did not practice safe social distancing got sick (Card 2). In order to safely protect yourself and your loved ones, make sure to sneeze/cough into your arms, wear a mask, stand 6 ft. apart, sanatize, wash your hands frequently, do not make contact with your face and eyes, and to get your COVID-19 vaccination. When were all vaccinated, we can safely be together and socialize again (Card 7).

Part III: Gameboard

The third part of the project is to create a gameboard that can be used together with the 7 playing cards. The playing cards are placed in numerical order and on each card placement, there is a question being asked. Do you think you can find the answers? The questions are:

  • Who is not wearing a mask?

  • What happened to the carrot?

  • What do you do when you need to sneeze or cough?

  • Who was brave in the picture to get the Vaccination?

  • When should you go to a Doctor?

  • Why do we wear masks?

  • How will you celebrate when the pandemic is over?

The gameboards are translated in six languages: Chinese, Burmese, Napali, Karen, Swahili, and English

Part IV: Activity Sheets and Coloring Pages

The last part of the project is to create activity sheets and color pages to be used at outreaching events. Children have the opportunity to submit their coloring pages to win a prize every week!

Images of coloring pages are seen above.

Images of activity sheets used at outreaching events are down below.
